Amy Stewart, MSN, FNP-C, leads her division of Capital Digestive Care in Washington, D.C. She sees all general gastroenterology patients, with sub-specialties in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and anal cancer screening. She also manages the clinical and prior-authorization teams for their in-office infusion center, which infuses more than 400 IBD patients each month. She was awarded the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) APP Outstanding Research Award, Presidential Poster Award, and Outstanding Poster Presentation for an abstract titled “Time is of the Essence: An Analysis of IBD Advanced Therapy Initiation in a Large Community Practice.” Amy is a nationally recognized speaker for IBD, IBS, and anal HPV/anal cancer screening. She serves as the current vice-chair of the American College of Gastroenterology APP Committee, leads the new mentoring sub-committee, and has joined the GI & Hepatology Advanced Practice Provider (GHAPP) education committee.
